This is yet another interesting question type in IELTS Listening. It can be quite challenging if you have difficulty remembering the factual details while listening to someone. Therefore, it is important that you STAY FOCUSED.
This question type usually appears in PART 1 OR 4 of the Listening Section. In this, you are given a table with missing information. Your task is to listen to the audio carefully (as it will be only played once), then complete the table by writing relevant facts in that table (such as names, dates, or prices).
💡 Tip: You should look at the table and its categories carefully before the audio starts, so that later when the audio plays, you can focus on the relevant facts that are missing in the table.
📝 Also, check your spellings as you can lose score if your spellings are wrong.

HOW TO DO IT??

🔍 READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
It is recommended to you that you have to read the instructions below the question “cautiously” as it would be about the word limit.
📌 For instance, if the direction is to write not more than one word, and you write 2 words instead of 1, your answer can be marked as incorrect and there is a major chance that you lose a score even if the answer is right.

📊 LOOK AT THE COLUMNS BEFORE THE AUDIO STARTS
It is important that you look at the table, and its columns before the beginning of the video.
🎧 So that later, when the audio starts playing, you can focus on the relevant facts that are missing in the table. It will also help you understand what the audio will be about.

⚠️ LOOK OUT FOR THE DISTRACTING CONTENT
It is necessary for you guys to listen with proper attention, so that you can detect the confusing or distracting content in the audio.
🎯 For instance, the audio might say, “The ticket price is $56 but through a special discount, it becomes $25, which can benefit many people.”
This use of “but” or “oh, my apologies” can serve as distractors and should be handled carefully.

🤔 HAVE A GUESS IF YOU AREN’T SURE OF THE ANSWER
It is recommended to you guys not to leave the answer without writing anything. If, somehow, you are unable to recall the correct answer, you can always guess the answer within the given context.
💪 So, don’t feel anxious if you can’t remember. You can always make a wild guess and it will also enhance your confidence that you did not leave the answer without writing anything.
